Sound Crew

In order for your film to have good quality sound, you'll need a sound crew. A sound crew's job on a film set is to record the essential sounds, such as dialog, while also filtering out the excess sound such as cars in the background. Things like dialog are recorded mainly using a microphone called a boom mic, a microphone that is attached to the end of a pole controlled by the boom operator. In order to be in the sound department, there's a few things someone needs before they can handle a microphone. The main thing a person needs, especially if they're a boom operator, is physical strength. Sometimes, the boom mic needs to be held up for long periods of time, and without a boom mic, theres no dialog. The sound department is so important because, without them, there would be no quality to the sound.
